SPECIAL NEW YEAR’S EVE PRESENTATION: Striking 12 at Merkin Concert Hall

Merkin Concert Hall presents a novel way to kick off New Year’s Eve this December 31: Striking 12, the rock holiday show by the NYC trio GrooveLily and Tony Winner Rachel Sheinkin (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee). Starring GrooveLily members Valerie Vigoda, Brendan Milburn, and Gene Lewin, this brilliantly funny pop concert/musical inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Little Match Girl” blurs the boundaries between theater and concert to create an exhilarating and thoroughly satisfying end to 2009. Striking 12 received a Lucille Lortel nomination for Outstanding Musical (2006) and the Bay Area Theater Critic’s Choice Award (2006).
