New York Festival of Song: The Welcome Shore

Metropolitan Opera mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke, soprano Michelle Areyzaga, baritone Philip Cutlip, pianist/host Steven Blier ("A national treasure when it comes to the art of song" - New York Times) and guitarist Rupert Boyd are featured in The Welcome Shore. This homage to rivers and oceans will stir the heart and the imagination as the summer season draws near. Music by Elgar (the magnificent Sea Pictures), Toldrà, Rachmaninoff, Schubert, Brahms, Viardot, Hahn, Noël Coward, and others.
These performances of The Welcome Shore are made possible, in part, with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency and from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs. Additional funding for these concerts has been provided by the A. L. and Jenny L. Luria Foundation.
