NYFOS: Fugitives
Thursday, November 20, 2008 8:00 pm

Two of the Metropolitan Opera's brightest young stars—tenor Joseph Kaiser and mezzo-soprano Kate Lindsey—perform rarely-heard gems from the concert stage, the movies, Broadway, and Weimar Republic Berlin cabarets by the gifted composers who fled destruction during Hitler's rise to power. Music by Kurt Weill, Erich Korngold, Alexander Zemlinsky, Friedrich Hollaender and many others. The pianist/host is Steven Blier, called "A national treasure when it comes to the art of song" by The New York Times.
