Hopestock: Music to Bailout Your Soul

Thursday, June 11, 2009 7:30 pm

In these times of economic uncertainty, we are all searching for solutions to everyday problems. Affordable housing, proper healthcare, and financial security are not as easily attainable as they were in our recent past. MUSIC continues to be an inspiring antidote to these kinds of challenges, offering a reservoir of hope, and nurturing the human spirit!

On June 11th, Nona Hendryx and Spirit Sings presents a night of hope and harmony with HopeStock: Music to Bailout Your Soul at Merkin Concert Hall. Featuring an eclectic array of NYC-based artists whose songs touch the heart and rouse the soul, HopeStock uses music to create avenues of awareness about the concerns that affect our community.

This unique fusion of talent includes Grammy-nominated indie soul sensation Maiysha, the arresting vocals of Canadian-born baritone Giuseppe Spoletini, scintillating song stylist Mark Anthony Lee, and the riveting melodies of Beth Arentsen and her piano-cello-drum trio. Genre-bending a cappella group Sirens of Shrine will also lend their voices to the evening.
