Duo-logues: Bugallo-Williams Piano Duo

Helena Bugallo and Amy Williams perform cutting-edge new works and masterpieces of the 20th century for piano four-hands and two pianos. The first half of the program includes Conlon Nancarrow’s Studies for Player Piano—originally written for player piano because they were too difficult for humans to play at the time they were written!—excerpts from György Kurtág’s Jatékok (Games), and György Ligeti’s Three Pieces for Two Pianos. In the second half the duo will perform Igor Stravinsky’s own four-handed arrangement of his orchestral masterpiece, The Rite of Spring.
