“There is nobody else within the pop-music sphere making music even remotely as sophisticated as Gabriel Kahane. This is music for the ears, the intellect and the soul...” - Prefix Magazine

In his song cycle The Memory Palace, Gabriel Kahane’s haunting music and mordant lyrics point the listener along Kahane’s own private East Coast route, an odd yet familiar-feeling detour dotted with personal landmarks and delicately remembered scenes of love and longing. An alternating series of cycles and quartets by other composers including Frank Bridge, Enrique Granados, Stephen Sondheim, and Heitor Villa-Lobos, follows the theme of desire across more distant borders of geography and imagination.

This performance will be followed by a complimentary wine reception with the artists.

Paul Appleby appears with the cooperation of The Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Young Artist Development Program.
