Stephen Cabell, Theory
Stephen Cabell — M.M., Juilliard School. B.M., Curtis Institute of Music. Attended Interlochen Arts Academy for horn and composition. Composition studies with Christopher Rouse, Richard Danielpour, Jennifer Higdon, and Jon Boyle. Works performed by Indianapolis Symphony, Curtis Symphony, Atlantic Music Festival Orchestra, Owensboro Symphony, Curtis Brass Ensemble, Aspen Contemporary Ensemble, and Imani Winds. Stephen has participated in the Aspen Music Festival and the Fontainebleau American Conservatory. Awards include 2 ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Awards, Joseph H. Bearns Prize in Music from Columbia University, and Prix Nadia Boulanger from the American Conservatory in France. Current faculty member of Atlantic Music Festival Composition Program, Manhattan School of Music Precollege, and Kaufman Center's Young Artist Program.
